  16.      _n_v_r_a_m can be used to set or print the values of non-volatile RAM
  17.      variables.

  19.      When invoked with no arguments, _n_v_r_a_m displays all known variables in the
  20.      _n_a_m_e=_v_a_l_u_e form.  The _n_v_r_a_m arguments are:

  22.      _n_a_m_e    Print the value of _n_a_m_e.

  24.      _v_a_l_u_e   If _n_a_m_e is defined in non-volatile RAM, replace _n_a_m_e's definition
  25.              string with _v_a_l_u_e.

  27.      ----vvvv      Print a line of the form _n_a_m_e=_v_a_l_u_e after getting or setting the
  28.              named variable.

  30.      If invoked as _s_g_i_k_o_p_t, more than one _n_a_m_e can be given.  _n_a_m_es that do
  31.      not match known variables are ignored.

  33.      The exit status is 1 if any arguments do not match and 0 otherwise.

  36.      Non-volatile RAM contains a small set of well-known strings at fixed
  37.      offsets.  _n_v_r_a_m can not be used to define new variables.
  38.  
  39.      Only the superuser can set variables.
  40.  
  41.      The term "non-volatile RAM" is somewhat misleading, because some
  42.      variables are placed only in volatile RAM and are reset on power-up.
  43.      Different systems have different mixes of volatile and non-volatile
  44.      variables.

  47.      If an attempt to get or set a variable fails for any reason, _n_v_r_a_m prints
  48.      an appropriate message on standard error and exits with non-zero status.

  50.      Not all systems support the ability to change the contents of non-
  51.      volatile memory with the _n_v_r_a_m command.  To change the contents of non-
  52.      volatile memory on systems that do not support _n_v_r_a_m, you must use the
  53.      PROM monitor _s_e_t_e_n_v command.
